The Trails is one of Lubbock’s newly master-planned communities whose tagline “where roots run deep” fits not only because of the hundreds of trees lining the parks and streets, but also because this posh new neighborhood is where relationships – as well as homes – are built to last.

Robert Wood began his career in the construction business before he graduated from Coronado High School in 1980; he absolutely loves what he does!  Custom Homes by Robert Wood builds custom homes one dream at a time; this is the phrase that drives Robert to build such fabulous homes.

Robert started Custom Homes by Robert Wood in 2002 and began fulfilling his dreams of being a home builder. Robert’s first parade home was in 2006, and his passion for life comes through in every project.  It is important to Robert that he surrounds himself with people who share the same work ethic; he encourages his family, friends, and employees to be the best at what they do.

Robert spends quality time with his clients, he learns about them and their lifestyle and because of this he is able to build exactly the home they desire.  When walking through a Custom Homes by Robert Wood home, it is obvious that each craftsman who worked to build the home took great pride in his work.

As 2011 President of the West Texas Homebuilders Association, Robert is involved at the local and state levels by serving on many committees that affect our industry. He hopes to continue serving in this capacity for many years to come.

Robert’s wife of 29 years, Sonja, enjoys helping clients choose paint color, selecting floor coverings, light fixtures, and much more!  Robert and Sonja have two grown daughters, Danielle Sweat and Candice Fuller, and three grandchildren.
